It is time to start requesting nominations for people to hold offices within the organization for the next term. The positions that will be open for nominations are as follows:
*The Vice-President will assume the office of president on July 1, 2011 for a one year period.
To nominate yourself or another individual, use the Contact Us link at the top of the page.
We need to have all nominations in by 4 PM on Friday, January 29. A brief vitae and paragraph will be posted on our website from each of the candidates. Voting will be done electronically and the winners will be announced at our business meeting during the KySTE Conference in March. We will also send out the winning names via e-mail for those unable to attend KySTE. Instructions on the electronic voting process will be sent to all once nominations have been received and the voting window has been opened.
The Executive Council of KySTE is looking for people who are truly interested in helping Kentucky move forward with technology in education. We hope to have nominations for dedicated individuals who have valuable input that could help us better serve Kentucky's students as an organization, as well as helping CIO's/DTC's throughout the Commonwealth through better communications with Legislators, KDE, OET, Superintendents and other key players in our field. We need those who can bring constructive criticism to the Board so that we can help the organization grow and give its members more "bang for their buck".

Re: 2010 Nominations Open
Early retirement requires long-term planning, discipline and a strategy. In addition to asking questions of company or retirement plan officials, you should keep copies of the summary plan description (SPD) and any amendments. If you want to stop working one day, you are going to have to think about how much income you will need to live. When stock markets take a dive, and real estate values plummet, often who gets left high and dry are senior citizens, who can have a huge chunk taken out of their retirement savings or the nest egg they have invested in their home. There have been more seniors resorting to borrowing money, even payday loans or reverse mortgages in order to make the move into a nursing home or assisted living community. The baby boomers are going to cripple Social Security, and the next generation or two are going to have to face some far harder choices than generations past.
